Collaboration Is The Name Of The Game
ByCollaboration Is The Name Of The Game
I don’t know if any of
you read The Independent. I just read Dominic Gill’s extraordinary story about his 18,449 mile bicycle ride down the west coast of the American continent. It took two years and two months. Some achievement, eh?
To make it even more extraordinary, he did it on a tandem! With the help of 270 total strangers! Strangers that included a young woman from Chile and an old, toothless gold prospector. You could call his fellow riders a diverse bunch!
And it got me thinking about another message that has such resonance in these highly competitive, sometimes cut-throat, days of a tough economic climate. The need to search for collaboration.
For small businesses and sole practitioners particularly, collaborative enterprises can be the injection they need to survive and thrive. So here’s a question for all of you who want to be able to offer more to your clients and customers and at the same time to build a strong and impenetrable wall around them; What else can I offer them that they want but that I cannot supply and who do I know who could supply it?
Think way outside your own business or industry and see what you come up with. And let us know how you get on and who you get to ride on your tandem.
